Torch obtains Grand Hunting Retriever Champion  title at 3 years of age at 2012 Fall Grand! Making Jim Thompson the only trainer in Michigan to train two Grand Champions.

I will be hosting a training group starting Wednesdays in June.
beginning at 5pm (or when you can get there). 4201 Fausset Rd. Howell Mi 48843.
All those attending will need to join Michigan HRC which includes access to their training grounds.

Train dogs to be top performers, good citizens, steady working companions in the duck blind and team players at the line.  To provide our clients  the joy and pride that comes with a well trained dog.

I started at a very young age, helping my Dad as a bird boy.  Since then I have trained and titled Hunting Retriver Champions, Master Hunters, Upland Hunters and two Grand Champions.

Currently I am the President of Central Michigan Hunting Retriever Club.

One of the questions I often get is "Will I be involved in the training?" Owners of the dogs I train are encouraged to participate as much as they would like. What I tell them is, "I can build you a race car but some one still has to teach you how to drive it."

Most of the dogs we train also participate in Hunt Tests. This training goes hand-in- hand  with those who want a solid hunting companion that's a pleasure to have in the blind. I encourage  owners to participate when ever possible.
